Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between Amman Stock Exchange and the National Cyber Security Center

On Monday 04/11/2024, The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Cyber Security Center aiming to exchange experiences and knowledge between the two parties regarding the best global practices and modern technologies in the field of cyber security.

The MOU was signed by Mazen Wathaifi, the CEO of the ASE and Eng. Bassam Al-Maharmeh, Head of the National Cyber ​​Security Center, in the presence of a number of ASE and National Cyber Security Center directors.

Mr. Wathaifi pointed out that signing the MOU with this distinguished national institution comes within the framework of the ASE’s efforts and commitment to enhance the digital transformation system, cyber security, information security and awareness among its employees, also in implementation of the ASE’s plan and its journey toward digital transformation, as well as the improvement and development procedures for the securing and protecting information, data and electronic systems related to the ASE’s activities.

Eng. Al-Maharmeh emphasized that the National Cyber security Center is a governmental institution that aims to build, develop and organize an effective cyber security system at the national level to protect the Kingdom from cyberspace threats and address them efficiently and effectively in a way that ensures the sustainability of work, maintains national security and enhances the confidence of national entities, investors and individuals in Jordanian cyberspace. He also stressed during the signing that any investment in cyber security is an investment in the institution itself and a reduction of its risks. He added that the ASE is considered one of the important and effective institutions at the national level, and has a lot of achievements in the field of digital transformation.

The MOU included an agreement to exchange expertise and knowledge between the two parties regarding the best global practices and modern technologies in the field of cyber security, and to cooperate in organizing workshops, training lectures, conferences, courses and scientific seminars to increase awareness of cyber security, and to exchange information, opinions, ideas and suggestions regarding common issues between the two parties according to their capabilities and nature of their roles and responsibility.
